Designed for use in home and small offices, Retrospect Desktop provides protection for one local Apple Macintosh desktop or notebook and two other networked desktop or notebook running Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, or Red Hat Linux computers. Retrospect Desktop can be expanded with additional client licenses, and the Retrospect 6.0 product CD provides bootable Mac OS X disaster recovery. Retrospect Workgroup utilizes proven automated technology to provide easy administration, complete protection for networked computers, and fast backups with 100% accurate restores.
NEW! Features of Retrospect 6.0 include:
• No limit to the size of volumes that can be backed up or the amount of data stored in a Backup Set. There is no longer a terabyte limit.
• Support for most SCSI and Fibre Channel tape libraries including features such as import/export, barcode inventory, and more than 128 storage slots.
• Improved user interface to manage drives, tapes, and cleaning tapes.
• Backups to disks can span multiple FireWire or USB hard drives.
• The Retrospect 6.0 product CD also includes Retrospect 5.1 for backing up to a Mac OS 9 computer.
Retrospect is distinguished by its ease of use and its ability to automatically adjust backup operations when protecting networked computers, saving valuable time for backup administrators. Unlike other backup software, Retrospect can perform incremental backups to save time while avoiding flawed restores that incorrectly return previously deleted, renamed and moved files and folders. And Retrospect significantly simplifies the creation and rotation of onsite and offsite sets of backup media to protect against disasters.
System Requirements:
Retrospect Desktop Backup
• Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X 10.1.2 or later
• 64 MB for Mac OS 9; 128 MB for Mac OS X (256 MB recommended for Mac OS X)
• Hard disk with at least 50 MB free
• Network backup using built-in TCP/IP networking
Macintosh Clients for Desktop
• Power Macintosh
• Mac OS 7.1 or later with Open Transport TCP/IP networking
• Mac OS X 10.1.2 or later with built-in TCP/IP networking
• Retrospect Server for Macintosh is required to back up Mac OS X Servers as clients
Windows Client for Desktop
• Windows 95/98/Me/NT Workstation/2000 Professional/XP
• Intel Pentium class or greater processor
• Uses Windows built-in TCP/IP networking
• Retrospect Server for Windows is required for backup of Windows NT or 2000 Server as clients
